PURPOSE: An avatar service system and a method thereof are provided to supply avatars to chatting service participants in a mobile environment as well as to allow the participants to express feelings using the actions and facial expressions of the avatars. CONSTITUTION: An avatar service system comprises a user terminal (110), a server (120), and a network (130). The user terminal is a wired/wireless communication terminal which is used by a user and communicates with a server using a communication module which is included in the terminal. If a user terminal is connected which requests to chat, a chatting server opens a chatting stage and transmits the avatar data of the connected users to each user terminal.
