PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same is provided in order to provide a user interface with which a user can more easily and effectively control a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (180) displays a list including at least one record of communications on a touch screen. A control unit receives a first touch input for the touch screen. The control unit converts the list into at least one thumbnail of a predetermined size corresponding to at least one record of communications displays it.
