PURPOSE: A driving assistance device is provided to reliably prevent a driver from falling asleep while driving. CONSTITUTION: A driving assistance device includes a determination section and an activation section. The determination section determines whether a condition to easily induce sleepiness is generated. The activation section activates a drowsy driving preventing function when the generation of the condition to easily induce the sleepiness is determined. The drowsy driving preventing function detects the sleepiness of the driver and wakes up a driver falling asleep.
