PURPOSE: A variable altitude simulation apparatus is provided to process a signal rapidly, and to reduce cost by implementing compactness. CONSTITUTION: A variable altitude simulation apparatus includes a first radio wave shielding unit (100), a controller (300), a digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) altitude simulation generator (200) and a second radio wave shielding unit (500). The first radio wave shielding unit receives an altitude signal generated from a transmission antenna of a radio wave altimeter, and compensates distortion, interference or loss for the altitude signal. The controller generates a delay time command for an altitude simulation signal. The DRFM altitude simulation generator stores the altitude signal outputted from the first radio wave shielding unit in a digital high frequency memory device, and generates an altitude simulation signal by outputting the altitude signal after delay time corresponding to the delay time command. The second radio wave shielding unit transmits the altitude simulation signal outputted from the DRFM altitude simulation generator to a receiving antenna of the radio wave altimeter.
