The present invention relates to a monitoring device (1), consisting of a housing (10) comprising detection means (40, 42, 50) which are linked to a processing unit and which include at least one radar detection system (40), a video detection system (42), an acoustic detection system (50), a meteorological measurement system and/or a pollution measurement system, communication means, means (21, 22) for converting solar energy into electrical energy, which are linked to a supply unit able to supply electrical energy to the detection means (40, 42, 50), the processing unit and the communication means, a base (16) which comprises means (81, 82, 84, 81a, 82a) for fixing the device (1) to the ground or to a support, and a roof (18) which is disposed at one end of the housing, opposite the base. The device (1) is characterized in that the housing (10) also comprises at least three lateral walls (11, 12, 13, 14) which extend between the base (16) and the roof (18) and which delimit an interior compartment, which is able to receive at least the processing unit and the energy supply unit, and in that the means (21, 22) for converting solar energy comprise photovoltaic solar panels positioned in a fixed manner in at least three of the lateral walls (11, 12, 13, 14) of the housing (10).
