The device (10) has a mold made of elastic material and forming a continuous sheath (22) for adjustably covering turns of a helical spring (20). The mold forms connectors (24) for connecting turns of the continuous sheath with two adjacent turns of the spring. The connectors exhibit limited thickness and strong elasticity for not modifying a curve of stiffness of the spring. Thickness of the continuous sheath is lower than half of the diameter of a spring wire. The connector forms a membrane with reduced thickness, where the membrane is continuous along the spring. An independent claim is also included for a car.
