CHARGING SYSTEM AND CHARGING METHOD FOR BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge a battery with efficiency in consideration of a capacity of power reception facilities.SOLUTION: A charging system includes: a plurality of quick chargers 20 converting an AC from a commercial system 50 into a DC to charge a driving battery 44; and a centralized management device 10 configured to be communicable with the quick chargers 20 to control operations of the quick chargers 20. Each quick charger 20 has a discharge part 22b converting a DC power stored in the connected driving battery 44 into an AC and discharging the AC. The centralized management device 10 has a memory 11b storing an AC upper limit power that can be received from the commercial system 50. In the case of exceedance of the upper limit power at charging a certain driving battery 44, the DC power stored in the other driving battery 44 is converted into an AC and discharged by the discharge part 22b to contribute to charge the driving battery 44.
