PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the tension of a wire to be delivered to a winding machine constant by absorbing a variation in the speed of the wire even when the speed of the wire is significantly varied.SOLUTION: A tension device 20 includes a pay-out pulley 24 around which a wire 11 paid out of a wire supply source 12 is wound, a pay-out speed control means 26 for controlling the rotation of the pay-out pulley to control the speed of the wire to be pulled out of the wire supply source 12 toward a winding machine 10, a first tension pulley 27 movable for redirecting the wire paid out of the pay-out pulley, a second tension pulley 28 movable for further directing the wire redirected by the first tension pulley 27 toward the winding machine 10, and energizing means 33, 34 for energizing the first tension pulley 27 and the second tension pulley 28 to increase the distance therebetween. It is desirable that a pair of tension arms 31, 32 are provided rotatably around their base ends and the tension pulleys are pivotally supported at the front ends of the tension arms, respectively. |
