PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the weft yarn breakage of a fluid jet type weaving machine simultaneously weft-inserting a plurality of weft.SOLUTION: In an air jet weaving machine simultaneously operating weft inserting mechanisms 1 and 2 to simultaneously weft-insert weft Y1 and Y2, baloon sensors 11 of the weft yarn inserting mechanisms 1 and 2 are electrically connected with a controlling device 12. The controlling device 12 comprises a storage unit 13, a comparing unit 14 and a determining unit 15. The storage unit preliminarily stores patterns of a weft yarn detecting signal to be transmitted from the baloon sensor 11 when the weft yarn is normally inserted. The comparing unit compares the pattern of the weft yarn detecting signal transmitted from the baloon sensor 11 with the stored pattern of the weft yarn detecting signal. The determining unit determines that weft yarn breakage occurs in the weft yarn inserting mechanism 1 or 2 which has transmitted a different pattern from the stored pattern of the weft yarn detecting signal, to transmit a stopping signal for the weaving machine. An apparatus for detecting weft yarn breakage of the air jet weaving machine compares the pattern of the weft yarn detecting signal detected by the baloon sensor 11 to allow all weft yarn breakages occurring in a region from a weft yarn inserting nozzle 4 to a yarn-feeding bobbin 7 to be surely detected. |
