PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical fiber matrix having high dimensional accuracy of a core and clad and excellent straightness and roundness, and to provide the optical fiber matrix.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an optical fiber matrix 1 having an SiOcladding layer 4 on the external periphery of a rod 2 containing an SiO-based glass 3 for a core includes arranging the rod 2 containing the SiO-based glass 3 for a core at the center inside a container, injecting a curable-resin-containing SiOglass material solution for the cladding layer 4 and a curing agent into the container, solidifying the glass material solution by a self-curing reaction, separating the container from the solid thereafter, drying the solid, and heating it in a chlorine gas. The optical fiber matrix 1 is also provided. |
