摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of production efficiency due to interruption of welding, by operation of usage rate protective control of welding power source.SOLUTION: A protective control method of a welding power source comprises calculating, every second, square mean value Si of welding current over past 10 minutes, and interrupting energization of welding current based on the mean value Si, where when the average value Si reached a predetermined first reference value St, estimating the average value Si when welding is continued until the completion, comparing the estimated average value Ss with a second reference value Sh which is larger than the first reference value St, when Ss<Sh, welding is continued until completion and when Ss&ge;Sh, interrupting the energization of welding current to stop welding. Thereby, when estimated that if welding is continued until completion, the second reference value Sh is not exceeded which does not affect welding power source, welding is continued so that reduction of production efficiency can be suppressed.
