PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To newly record a character based on character pattern data of a predetermined language without performing modification to a basic control program, in relation to a recording device for performing recording based on the character pattern data.SOLUTION: A printer 12 includes: a storage part 35 for storing language data 46 constituted by including character pattern data of a predetermined language, and a language-compatible program for performing a process related to recording on a recording medium corresponding to the predetermined language based on the character pattern data of the predetermined language; and a basic control part 30a for loading the language-compatible program included in the language data 46 corresponding to the predetermined language in a form callable by firmware 41 in recording a predetermined character of the predetermined language, and executing a process related to recording on the recording medium based on the character pattern data included in the language data 46 by a function of the loaded language-compatible program. |
