PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved twisted cable.SOLUTION: There is provided a twisted cable including a plurality of brittle proof stress wires and means of maintaining a twist array of the brittle wires. Since the proof stress wires are brittle, the proof stress wires cannot be deformed sufficiently during conventional cable twisting processing so as to maintain a spiral array thereof. Therefore, the twisted cable can be fitly provided as an intermediate article or finial article by the means of maintaining the spiral array of twisted wires. When the twisted cable is used as the intermediate article, it can be incorporated thereafter in the final article such as an overhead power transmission cable. The maintenance means may be a tape or an adhesive tape stuck on the twisted wires, or a binder.
