A method for processing image data in a display device is provided to prevent a final image from being deteriorated by separately compressing Y data and Cb and Cr data, thereby improving the accuracy of data restored after compression. RGB raw data are received. The RGB raw data are converted into YCrCb format(ST1). Y data and CrCb data of the YCrCb format are separately compressed in different compression types(ST2,ST3). The compressed Y data and the compressed CrCb data are respectively restored in corresponding compression types. The restored Y data and the restored CrCb data are coupled, and the coupled data are converted into RGB restoration data(ST4). |
