PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool which prevents a built-up edge from falling off and improve wear resistance.SOLUTION: In a throw-away tip 11 as a cutting tool, an oil guide groove 3 of which one end is communicated to a cutting point 4 to guide cutting oil to the cutting point 4, is formed at a rake face 2. Thus, a temperature of the cutting point 4 can be lowered, in other words, a cutting speed can be increased while maintaining the same temperature. A generated built-up edge is allowed to enter the oil guide groove 3 to achieve "anchor effect" of increasing binding force thereof to a cutting tool base material. Thus, the built-up edge is prevented from falling off, accordingly wear of the cutting tool is suppressed by utilizing the built-up edge as a protection film. |
