PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking-type mower simplified in power transmission structure and enabling the center of gravity of its machine body to be lowered as well.SOLUTION: A walking-type mower includes the following construction: a traveling machine body F suspended with a pair of right and left front and rear wheels 2 is installed with an electric motor M with its output shaft M1 oriented vertically and a driving mechanism transmitting the mechanical power of the output shaft M1 of the electric motor M to a cutting blade shaft 4 furnished with a cutting blade 3 and to the longitudinal shaft 5 of the front and rear wheels 2. In this mower, the cutting blade shaft 4 is laid nearly at the center of the front and rear and the right and left of the traveling machine body F, the output shaft M1 of the electric motor M is laid concentrically above the cutting blade shaft 4 and connected to the cutting blade shaft 4 via a cutting blade clutch for rotating power on/off use, and a battery B is laid on at least one side of, i.e., in front of and/or behind, the electric motor M on the traveling machine body F and within the space between the right and left wheels 2. |
