PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which is inexpensive and can suppress attitude fluctuation even when a carriage experiences the attitude fluctuation due to curvature of a main rail or sub rail, or mounting accuracy to a body.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording apparatus applies ink to a medium while moving a carriage to which a recording head is mounted in a main scanning direction. The inkjet recording apparatus includes: a detection means for detecting a position of the carriage; a calculation means for calculating the amount of displacement being the amount of rotation with respect to an axis in parallel to the main scanning direction of the carriage by a light source which is provided in a casing of the inkjet recording apparatus and a light reception unit which is provided the carriage and receives a luminous flux from the light source based on a position of the carriage detected by the detection means; and a compensation means for compensating the rotation with respect to the axis in parallel to the main scanning direction of the carriage. The inkjet recording apparatus applies ink to the medium while compensating the carriage with the compensation means during main scanning of the carriage based on the amount of displacement. |
