PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lithium compound oxide, having a uniform and appropriate particle diameter and a high specific surface area due to a hollow structure, producible on an industrial scale.SOLUTION: The particle size distribution of a nickel compound hydroxide to be a raw material is controlled. The compound hydroxide has a structure having: a central portion comprising fine primary particles; and an outer shell portion present on the outside of the central portion and comprising plate-like primary particles larger than the primary particles. The compound hydroxide is obtained in such a manner that by pH control during crystallization, separation into a nucleation step and a particle growth step is performed, and a reaction atmosphere in each of the steps and a manganese content of a metal compound fed in each of the steps are respectively controlled. |
