PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for coating which does not cause appearance defects even when tableware is washed and used repeatedly and which facilitates improvement in design of the tableware.SOLUTION: A resin composition for coating includes a melamine-based resin composition and a spherical composite containing a melamine-based resin layer (A) and a silica layer (B) in the order from its inner layer. The resin composition for coating may include the spherical composite by about 5-30 pts.mass with respect to 100 pts.mass of the melamine-based resin composition. The spherical composite has a diameter of 6-15 μm.
