PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and accurate method for measuring a residual torsion of a twist wire.SOLUTION: A method for measuring a residual torsion of a wire W includes: a drawing process for drawing a wire W in a vertical direction by a predetermined length while restricting the wire from rotating; a detected object attachment process for attaching a detected object 30 to a place close to a terminal of the wire W so as to prevent the rotation while keeping the restriction of the wire W; and a detection process for allowing the wire W to freely rotate by releasing the restriction of the wire W and detecting by a detector the rotation direction and rotation amount of the detected object 30 in association with the free rotation of the wire W.
