PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a continuous sheet from deviating from a tractor caused by skew generated when the continuous sheet is conveyed with conveyance accuracy of a paper feeding roller.SOLUTION: A printer 1 performs printing on a continuous sheet 2 while making a tractor 4 follow the continuous sheet 2 conveyed by a feeding force of a paper feeding roller 8 for performing the conveyance. A skew-correcting-operation control means 37 detects an amount of skew by a paper width detector 26 every time the continuous sheet 2 is conveyed by a unit conveyance amount only, and detects a risk state in which the continuous sheet 2 is liable to deviate from the tractor 4. When the risk state is detected, a skew correcting operation is carried out. In the skew correcting operation, a roller opening operation for releasing pressing force of the continuous sheet 2 against the paper feeding roller 8 and a paper output roller 12, a reverse feeding operation of feeding the continuous sheet 2 backward by a conveyance force of the tractor 4 while opening the roller, and a forward feeding operation of feeding the continuous sheet 2 toward the forward direction are carried out. |
