The invention relates to a component for rail fixing systems, said component being made of a fiber-reinforced plastic which consists of a base plastic and reinforcing fibers incorporated into said base plastic. The component according to the invention can be produced from plastic inexpensively and allows the combination of a low component weight with a mechanical load-bearing capacity which is optimally adapted to the respective requirement while having a wide freedom of design. This is achieved in that the component is produced using the injection molding compounding process, and the length of the reinforcing fibers is at least 200 mum on average.
