The method involves providing transmitter dipoles (D1-D2) in the receiver (E). The transmitter dipole (D1) is provided with transmitters (S1,S2). The transmitter dipole (D2) is provided with transmitters (S3,S4). The electromagnetic radiation of transmission frequencies are transmitted with respect to transmitters (S1-S4). The frequencies are modulated with respect to modulation frequencies. The transmission frequencies are different from each other. The position of receiver is determined from both amplitudes of beat frequencies. An independent claim is included for system for determining position of receiver.
