PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately record a position of a component that is changed relative to a string according to the operation of a pedal.SOLUTION: An automatic playing piano is arranged with a position sensor 555 for detecting a position in a vertical direction of a lifting rail at an end of the lifting rail. When damper performance data is stored, a signal ya indicating a position of a vertical direction of the lifting rail, output from the position sensor 555, is converted into a digital signal yd to generate a position value yx indicating a position of the lifting rail on the basis of the digital signal yd. The position value yx is stored in a second buffer 1023. A second conversion part 1021 converts the position value yx into a position, in a vertical direction of a thrust rod connected to a damper pedal. Thus obtained position is converted into a value that may be obtained by a control change message of a damper pedal in MIDI format data to be stored in a recording medium. |
