PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of a fuel battery, and to reduce energy consumption when the operation of the fuel battery is stopped.SOLUTION: A fuel battery system S includes: a fuel battery 10; an air pump 31 for supplying oxidant gas to a cathode passage 10c; scavenging means (the air pump 31, an opening/closing valve 41, and an opening/closing valve 42) for supplying scavenging gas to an anode passage 10a and scavenging fuel gas; and a control portion 60. The control portion 60 executes an oxidant gas supplying step for supplying the oxidant gas to the cathode passage 10c when the power generation of the fuel battery system S is stopped; a leaving step for supplying no oxidant gas to the cathode passage 10c; and a fuel gas passage scavenging step for supplying the scavenging gas to the anode passage 10a. |
