PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and a vehicle including the same which can ensure a resolution of a luminance image and perform highly accurate sign detection while detecting a road surface state by using a polarization image.SOLUTION: The image processing system includes: an imaging unit which includes an image pickup device 206 having a plurality of pixels and an optical filter 205A disposed in a front stage of the image pickup device 206, and captures vehicle peripheral information including a road surface; and an image analysis unit for analyzing an imaging result of the imaging unit. The optical filter 205A is disposed in a lower area of an effective imaging area, and includes a polarized light filter layer 223 in which a polarizer is formed for allowing a horizontal polarization component P and a vertical polarization component S of incident light to enter each pixel of each image pickup device 206. The image analysis unit discriminates a road surface state from a horizontal polarization component image and a vertical polarization component image which are generated on the basis of a pixel value of the lower area, and also performs sign recognition on the basis of the imaging result of the incident light transmitted through an upper area of the effective imaging area. |
