PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the position of a calibration area from having a harmful influence on sequential access.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a disk device is provided. In the disk device, calibration means uses a first area in which data should be written next in a sequential access area on the disk as a calibration area to execute calibration when the calibration is necessary. Management means associates the calibration area with a physical address of the first area used as the calibration area to register the calibration area in a management table. Sequential write means skips the first area, and continues sequential write from the second area next to the first area. |
