PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can perform exposure in a state where light emission of a light-emitting device is stable, and a control method thereof, and a program.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 100 compares a threshold set by a relation between light emission time and the amount of light emission indicated by light emission time information with the amount of calculated target light emission. As a result of the comparison, the imaging apparatus 100 controls a stroboscope and an imaging element so as to start exposure of the imaging element after making the stroboscope emit light if the amount of target light emission is equal to or less than the threshold and to make the stroboscope emit light after starting exposure of the imaging element if the amount of target light emission exceeds the threshold. |
