PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in a fixing unit comprising a conventional heating rotor and pressure rotor, an air current is symmetrically blown onto the heating rotor and the pressure roller in order to improve the separability of a recording material from the heating rotor and pressure rotor; however, the current of air blown onto the leading end of the recording material is affected by other air currents, with the result that the leading end of the transfer material once separated from the roller contacts the roller again, leading to an image defect such as uneven glossiness.SOLUTION: The distance between the position where an air current is blown onto a heating rotor from first blowing means and the downstream end of a fixing nip is greater than the distance between the position where an air current is blown onto a pressure rotor from second blowing means and the downstream end of the fixing nip. Thus, an air current is stabilized and a phenomenon in which an image defect such as uneven glossiness can be prevented. |
