<p>With a lens device according to an aspect of the present invention, when it is determined that a lens has arrived at a target location, a brake means is controlled on the basis of brake on/off information which is included in a lens movement command. On the basis of the brake on/off information, it is possible for the brake to not always be set to on when the lens arrives at the target location, but to be set to on when commencing a different drive immediately after the completion of the lens drive, and thus, the lens will not be driven over extended periods of time as a result of carrying out coil short-circuit/electrification with each stopping or driving of the lens. Additionally, when it is determined that the lens has arrived at the target location, a lens drive completion is transmitted to an image capture device main body, and it is possible for a receiving means to receive the next lens movement command from the image capture device main body, thus allowing carrying out the next lens movement promptly after the lens arriving at the target location, and allowing rapidly carrying out the lens movement even when a different drive commences immediately after the completion of the lens drive.</p> |
