PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which reduces resistance received by a needle thread when the needle thread is pulled up by a thread take-up lever, thereby preventing the occurrence of defective pulling up of the needle thread by the thread take-up lever.SOLUTION: The tip of an inner hook stopper 41 of an inner hook 4 protrudes further toward the side of a needle hole 81 than an abutment part 7 and extends to the opening end of a cloth feed hole on the side of a horizontal hook 2. Thereby, an angle &thetas;1 formed by an upper side needle thread 100 passing through between the inner hook stopper 41 and the abutment part 7 and by a center line 101 of the needle hole 81 becomes smaller than an angle formed, in a prior art, by an upper side needle thread passing through between an inner hook stopper and an abutment part and by a needle hole. The needle thread can pass through the needle hole 81 at an angle closer to a perpendicular angle to a needle plate 1. As a result, when the needle thread 100 is pulled up by a thread take-up lever, resistance received at the lower end position of the needle hole 81 can be reduced, so that the needle thread can be prevented from being defectively pulled up by the thread take-up lever. Consequently, stitches are prevented from being disordered, and the needle thread is prevented from being doubly caught by a hook point. |
