PURPOSE: A sensing area setting system and a method thereof are provided to set up an area except for an object within an area and not to recognize the object as a person. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of distance measurement sensors(112) measures distance in each direction. An initial value storage unit(113) stores distance information as an initial value according to measurement. An automatic sensing area setting unit(114) sets up a range within the initial value as a sensing area. An object recognizing unit(115) recognizes an object within the sensing area based on the measured distance. |
