PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio coding device which allows a prediction coefficient minimizing an error to be selected with a small processing amount in prediction coding using a codebook.SOLUTION: An audio coding device performs prediction coding of a third channel signal included in a plurality of channels, on the basis of a first channel signal and a second channel signal included in a plurality of channels included in an audio signal and a plurality of prediction coefficients included in a codebook. Further, the audio coding device has a determining section for determining an error distribution, which is defined by a difference between the third channel signal before the prediction coding and the third channel signal after the prediction coding, as a prescribed curved surface on the basis of the first channel signal and the second channel signal, and the third channel signal before the prediction coding. Additionally, the audio coding device has a calculating section for calculating prediction coefficients corresponding respectively to a first channel and a second channel from the codebook, on the basis of a minimum value of the error defined from the prescribed curved surface, and a codebook range defined from a minimum coefficient and a maximum coefficient of the plurality of prediction coefficients. |
