PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an side airbag device for a vehicle capable of suppressing load applied on a breast part of an occupant and exhibiting a breast protection effect even when the physique of the occupants is different.SOLUTION: An airbag device 1 for a vehicle is provided with a side airbag 10. The side airbag 10 has a main chamber 12 and a sub-chamber 14 arranged in the vehicle inside of the main chamber 12. In the developing state of the side airbag, the upper end part 12a of the main chamber 12 is positioned at a height in contact with the upper arm of a large occupant and the upper end part 14a of the sub-chamber 14 is positioned at a height in contact with the upper arm of a small occupant. Slants 12b, 14b tilted upward toward the vehicle outside from the occupant side are respectively established in the upper end part 12a of the main chamber and the upper end part 14a of the sub-chamber. The upper arm part is held up by the slant 12b, 14b and the load to the breast is reduced. A wide range of the physique is covered by the chamber 12, 14. |
