The device (3) has a fixing device for fixing the device to a frame i.e. longitudinal beam, of a motor vehicle (1), and a tank casing (9) for storing fuel. The tank casing comprises a self-supporting structure (11) and an assembly device (13) e.g. threaded bolt. A frame attachment part (15) is mounted at the motor vehicle through the self-supporting structure and the assembly device. The frame attachment part forms a fender (17) of the motor vehicle. The tank casing comprises a cuboid retainer (19) in which an electrical energy storage (21) i.e. battery, is retained. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle.
