The launching system (10) has an ignition module (2) which is provided for ignition of the projectile (4). The ignition module is optionally provided with either electric or mechanical firing mechanism over a common control device (1) that is operable. The ignition modules are optionally connected to the common control device. The ignition modules comprise an identical mechanical and/or electromechanical interface connected to the control device. An independent claim is included for method for firing projectile.
