PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positioning accuracy of a non-contact type separation member that forms a separation gap between a recording medium and the surface of a fixing belt.SOLUTION: A separation member 28 is provided with a leading end 28a that forms a nip part N for fixing images, and both ends in an axial direction of which do not contact an endless fixing belt 21 held by a belt holding member 40; and further has a function for separating a recording medium P passed through the nip part N from the surface S of a fixing belt 21 with the leading end of the separation member 28. A contact part 283 is provided to the separation member 28, and the contact part 283 is brought into contact with a positioning part 401 of the belt holding member 40.
