PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image of satisfactory image quality with suppressed noise even if an imaging apparatus is used in common for an infrared image taking function and a visible light image taking function.SOLUTION: An infrared light source 11 emits infrared light within a specific wavelength band. An imaging device unit comprising an imaging device 14, an A/D conversion unit 15, and a pixel interpolation unit 16 outputs a chrominance signal corresponding to incident light. An optical filter 13 is always inserted in an optical path to the imaging device unit and attenuates infrared light of a wavelength outside the specific wavelength band. A color correction unit 18 corrects the chrominance signal outputted from the imaging device unit to make the spectral-response characteristic of each color of the imaging device unit within the specific wavelength band approximate to the characteristic of a human cone.
