PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove scale in an upper path steam generating tube to reduce residual scale.SOLUTION: A boiler 1 includes: a plurality of lower path steam generating tubes 32 disposed to a lower wall surface of a furnace 10: a furnace inlet manifold 50 connected to lower ends of the plurality of lower path steam generating tubes 32 to supply water to the lower path steam generating tubes 32; a furnace intermediate header 60 disposed at a central part of the furnace 10 and having a thick tube to which the upper ends of the lower path steam generating tubes 32 are connected; and upper path steam generating tubes 42 which are disposed to an upper part of the furnace 10, the lower ends of which are connected to the furnace intermediate header 60, and which are extended horizontally from the furnace intermediate header 60 further upward. A blowing method of the boiler 1 includes: a first blow step of opening a blow valve 62 of the furnace intermediate header 60 firstly to drain water from the upper path steam generating pipes 42 and the furnace intermediate header 60; and a second blow step, after drainage of water from the upper path steam generating tubes 42 by the first blow step, for opening a blow valve 52 of the furnace inlet manifold 50 to drain water from the lower path steam generating tubes 32. |
