PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored resin composition which can provide a color filter that has improved brightness compared with a case where a pigment is used as a color material and has an excellent voltage holding ratio, and also provide a color filter having a pixel formed using the colored resin composition, and a high quality liquid crystal display device and organic EL display device.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a dye for color filter which is represented by a formula (I), a colored resin composition including the dye for color filter, a color filter having a pixel formed using the colored resin composition, and a liquid crystal display device and an organic EL display device having the color filter.
