PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid interruption of communication of a network relay apparatus equipped with a programmable logic device during reconfiguration of the programmable logic device without duplexing the programmable logic device.SOLUTION: The network relay apparatus includes: a main controller, a network interface unit, and a relay processor which determines the destination of a reception packet. The network interface unit includes: a plurality of line housing units to which physical lines are respectively connected; a data storage to store circuit data; the programmable logic circuit by which a logic circuit having a predetermined function is realized; a configuration circuit to cause the programmable logic circuit to configure the logic circuit using the circuit data; and a state controller provided in a circuit structure other than the programmable logic circuit to control the state of each of the line housing units to one of an active state which allows data transmission and reception and a standby state which prohibits the data transmission and reception. |
