PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element excellent in durability and a solar cell having the photoelectric conversion element.SOLUTION: An organic photoelectric conversion element includes a transparent substrate, a first electrode, a photoelectric conversion layer, a charge transport layer and a second electrode. The photoelectric conversion layer contains titanium oxide which carries a sensitizing dye and a co-adsorbent and is coated with a coating layer containing niobium oxide. The co-adsorbent contains a compound represented by formula (1): R-X-COOH. (In formula (1), Rrepresents an unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl group, an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group or an unsubstituted or substituted pyridyl group; and X represents a single bond, a methylene group or an ethylene group.) |
