PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in dimensions when not in use.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a plurality of optical elements; a collapsible lens barrel 101 capable of extending and retracting in a direction along an optical axis so as to extend when in use and retract in a collapsed state; and an imaging element 102 for imaging an image taken by the plurality of optical elements. When in use, the imaging device is configured such that the plurality of optical elements including a retreat lens 105 and the imaging element 102 are disposed on the same optical axis. In the collapsed state, the imaging device is configured such that the retreat lens 105 is moved to a first retreat position and also the imaging element 102 is moved to a second retreat position, and further the retreat lens 105 and imaging element 102 are disposed to be at least partially overlapped with each other on a plane substantially orthogonal to the optical axis. |
