PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device capable of attaining miniaturization while maintaining a necessary locking strength.SOLUTION: A fixed gear 40 in which an annular first tooth part 41 is arranged in one side of an axial direction is fixed to an upper side bracket 11, a movable gear 60 in which an annular second tooth part 61 is arranged in the other side of the axial direction is passed through by each of extending out parts 52 of a guide 50 fixed to a lower side bracket 12 in through-holes 63, is not relatively rotatable to the guide 50, and supported movably in the axial direction. The second tooth part 61 of the movable gear 60 having moved in the other direction in the axial direction corresponding to locking directional rotation of a shaft 30 meshes with the first tooth part 41 of the fixed gear 40, thereby the upper side bracket 11 and the lower side bracket 12 are locked so as not to be able to relatively recline, the movable gear 60 moves to one side of the axial direction corresponding to the lock releasing directional rotation of the shaft 30, the meshing of the second tooth part 61 and the first tooth part 41 is canceled, thereby the lock of the upper side bracket 11 and the lower side bracket 12 is canceled. |
