PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route predicting system that can perform route prediction even involving any route section never traveled before.SOLUTION: A route predicting system comprises a travel history DB 32 storing travel history data on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis; a current position detector 11 that detects the current position of an object vehicle for which route prediction is to be done; a route calculator 33 that acquires travel history data on the object vehicle from the travel history DB 32 and, if the quantity of the travel history data within a prescribed range including the current position is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold, figures out a predicable route on the basis of the travel history data on the object vehicle or, if the quantity of the travel history data within the prescribed range is less than the prescribed threshold, acquires from a travel history memory travel history data on another vehicle in a prescribed range to figure out a predicable route for the object vehicle on the basis of that acquired travel history data on the other vehicle; and a communication unit 31 that outputs the data on the predicable route figured out by the route calculator 33. |
