PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical apparatus in which stress applied to a scanning optical element is suppressed, and accuracy of positioning of the scanning optical element with respect to a holder is excellent.SOLUTION: The scanning optical apparatus includes: a long scanning optical element 10 for forming, on a photoreceptor, an image of light emitted from a light source; a holder 50 to which the scanning optical element 10 is attached; a shaft-shaped member 81 provided in the holder 50; and a hole 16 provided in the scanning optical element 10. An inner diameter of the hole 16 is larger than an outer diameter of the shaft-shaped member 81, and the scanning optical element 10 is positioned with respect to the holder 50, by enlarging the diameter of the shaft-shaped member 81 after inserting the shaft-shaped member 81 into the hole 16. |
