PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease density unevenness in an inkjet recording apparatus, by knowing a generation condition of the density unevenness according to the recorded image, and setting the number of nozzle rows used in the recording according to the generation condition.SOLUTION: The number of nozzle rows used is decided to two in the band BN1, since there is no white image continuous area exceeding the threshold B in any block. Contrary to this, the number of nozzle rows used is decided to one in bands BN2-4, since there is a white image continuous area that exceeds the threshold B in either block. That is, the area G1 of a black image adjacent to the white image area that exceeds the threshold B is the part where the density unevenness is generatedt if recording is carried out by the same recording method as the normal recording in multipath recording. The ink discharge frequency from each nozzle is raised by assuming the number of nozzle rows used to one in the band where this density unevenness might be generated. As a result, the occurrence of the density unevenness can be controlled. |
