PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step for a saddle-ride type vehicle composed of a step body supported on a vehicle body frame and a cover member fastened to the step body which keeps the number of fastening members at the minimum and allows the cover member to be stably fastened directly to the step body, thereby reduces costs, improves productivity, and enhances assembling efficiency.SOLUTION: A step body 41 has an outer thick-walled portion 47, an inner thick-walled portion 48, and a housing slot 49 disposed between the thick-walled portion 47 and the thick-walled portion 48. The inner surface of the outer thick-walled portion 47 that faces the housing slot 49 is formed into a first sloped surface 50. A cover member 42 having a second sloped surface 51 which is close and opposite to the first sloped surface 50 has an engaging projection 53 engaged with an engaging recess 52 opened to the first sloped surface 50 and formed at the outer thick-walled portion 47. The interior of the cover member 42 along the direction of a vehicle width is fastened to the step body 41 by a single fasten member 54. |
