PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electric bulb that can supply a current corresponding to one of an AC electric bulb and a DC electric bulb when the electric bulb is held, and securely avoid wrong fitting, and an illumination system using the same.SOLUTION: A main-body case 2 of a socket 1 for an electric bulb accommodates an AC female screw electrode 3 and an AC contact portion 4, and a DC female screw electrode 5 and a DC contact portion 6. The DC female screw electrode 5 and DC contact portion 6 are arranged at positions where an AC electric bulb 11 is restricted from contacting a male screw electrode 14 and a center electrode 15. The AC contact portion 4 is arranged at a position where a DC LED electric bulb 21 is restricted from contacting an annular electrode 25. |
