PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing an oligomer with high productivity on a long-term basis with less catalyst deterioration, when oligomerizing ethylene by using a catalyst in which nickel is supported on a support containing silica and alumina.SOLUTION: A method for producing an olefin includes: bringing an ethylene oligomerization catalyst including a support containing silica and alumina and a nickel compound supported on the support into contact with ethylene to perform oligomerization reaction, and successively bringing an oligomer obtained by the oligomerization reaction into contact with ethylene in the presence of a disproportionation catalyst to perform disproportionation reaction. In the ethylene oligomerization catalyst, the amount of nickel supported is 0.0001-1 wt.% based on the weight of the support, the molar ratio of silica to alumina (SiO/AlO) in the support is 100-2,000, and the molar ratio of nickel to alumina (Ni/Al) is 0.00005-0.39. |
